Fans will be able to hear Carrie Fisher in two upcoming “Family Guy” episodes, which will be so bittersweet

Just yesterday, we learned that we lost a very important person in both advocacy and pop culture. While many know her best as Princess Leia, Carrie Fisher also did voice-overs for Family Guy — a show that currently has two of her episodes ready to air next year. Both Fisher and her mom, Debbie Reynolds, made appearances on Seth MacFarlane’s animated hit throughout the show’s impressive run.

Fisher passed away after suffering from a massive heart attack right before Christmas, which shocked us all. In fact, that there were many projects and appearances that Fisher had scheduled into 2017, so a health crisis like this was an unfortunate surprise.

According to Variety, Fisher’s voice has been featured in about 20 episodes of Family Guy, so obviously MacFarlane — a Star Wars fan himself — was able to form a relationship with the actress during their time together.

Fisher’s main role on the show was Angela, Peter Griffin’s boss at the Pawtucket Brewery. The character first appeared back in 2005, and has been voiced by Fisher continuously since. While it hasn’t been officially confirmed that Fisher returned to this character for the 2017 episodes, it definitely seems likely.

Speaking of projects, she’ll be quite visible in Star Wars: Episode VIII next year, where her character of Leia was said to have had a bigger role than in the last recent installment.

We can’t wait to hear Fisher’s voice once more, but know that it’ll definitely be sad. At the age of 60, with so much spunk left, she was definitely taken from us way too soon.
