Fans think The Weeknd threw major shade at Drake in his new single—do you hear it?
Drake is no stranger to an insider-music-feud. The rapper has had reported beefs with the likes of Kanye West, Pusha-T, and Common (to name just a few). And many fans are now speculating that a line in The Weeknd’s new single “Lost in the Fire” is throwing major shade in Drake’s direction.
The line in question? "And I just want a baby with the right one/ ‘Cause I would never be the one to hide one."
The line, some believe, is in direct reference to the fact that Drake initially hid that he had a son with adult entertainer Sophie Brussaux in October 2017. The information ultimately came out in a diss track by Pusha T, and Drake has since addressed it in his own music. A feud wouldn’t necessarily be too out of left field for the artists, as they were known to have had issues after The Weeknd didn’t sign with Drake’s label…after Drake helped launch his career.

Drake vs the Weeknd is pretty much a Canadian civil war.

However, it should also be noted that some lyric sites are reporting the line as, “And I just want a baby with the right one/ ‘Cause I would never be the one to hurt one”—which changes the meaning entirely and is decidedly not a diss.
