Other famous Batmans paid tribute to Adam West
Many of the other Dark Knights have paid tribute to the late Adam West who died on Friday at the age of 88. Ben Affleck, Val Kilmer, Will Arnett, Jason O’Mara, and Kevin Conroy, all remembered their idol who they modeled their role after. While West had his own particular take on the character, it’s an absolutely unforgettable one. Before Batman had his own movies or was a well-respected superhero in his own right, Adam West took on the role and made it so.
He will be dearly missed.

Before Batman, West was playing in television roles. The classic 1960s icon became a new star after the Batman series.

The Lego Movie and The Lego Batman Movie‘s iconic Batman voice, Will Arnett, made sure to pay tribute to the star. And he did so in the perfect way, since his character is always know for saying “I’m Batman.”

DC Entertainment President and Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns said hearing all these stories about West has been a wonderful trip down memory lane.
He said “The recounts and fond memories from the actors is heartwarming. Like many others, Adam West as Batman was part of my childhood. Watching those reruns every day after school, Batman made reading comics that much more real for me growing up.”

Moreover, the culture icon led comic books into the mainstream and inspired detective characters for years to come. Adam West became the world-famous face of the now legendary Batman. And it’s nice to see the other Batmans recognize it.
