This tattoo artist is 11 years old, and we can’t stop watching this video of him in action
We hear of kids doing amazing things pretty often, but the world of tattoos and children rarely merge. But forget everything you know, because this tattoo artist is only 11 years old! As in, not old enough to have a tattoo himself. Yup, Ezrah “The Shark” Dormon was inspired by the art of tattooing when he watched his mom get a red flower tattoo from tattoo artist Ali Garcia in Panama. They trusted him enough to let him color in a small section of it, at which point he got the tattoo bug and started practicing with a tattoo gun on a regular basis.
Now Dormon is undergoing an apprenticeship with Garcia in her store, and by the looks of it, he’s in it for the long haul.
Look at him in action!
"Whenever someone comes to get a tattoo, they always have to know that I'm still learning, that I'm just an apprentice," Dormon said in the NowThis video. "So if they feel comfortable offering up a part of their body that I can do and try to do my best job I can. They'll always be a little bit nervous, but they're always usually excited."
Let’s just remember that he is…11 years old! That is a lot of responsibility for someone that young, but he truly seems serious about his tattoo education (and incredibly poised for a kid his age, we might add).
So far, Dormon has inked his dad and his math teacher, which is pretty darn cool. When he’s not learning the ropes in the tattoo studio, he can be found practicing his designs on paper. Many of them involve sharks (again…he’s 11).
He also practices on fruit.
And he’s not just creative, but business minded as well.
"I want to do something when I'm older that makes me really happy," he said in the video. "What I want to do is, maybe I would, like, travel around the world with my tattoo gun, or when I go to college I'll have that in my suitcase that I can just pull out and give a tattoo to earn money."
Keep kicking butt, Ezrah! We support this venture completely and think you are 100% awesome.
