This new way to curl your eyelashes involves fire
There are countless products out there devoted solely to our eyelashes. The beauty world is full of eyelash curlers, mascaras, and probably many other unusual devices we’ve never even heard of. Yet, what happens if your lashes are stubborn? What do you do when your lashes simply won’t curl?
According to beauty blogger t0inky, you look to Korean dramas for inspiration. While watching such a program, the YouTuber noticed that many makeup tables were littered with burnt-looking, wooden sticks. Instantly, she was intrigued and began to do some research. What she found seemed like a miracle: a method that gives a more natural curl, one that lasts longer and looks better than what you’d get if you used an electric eyelash curler.
Since t0inky’s lashes aren’t fans of mascara – and since her electric eyelash curlers never lasted long – she decided to give this new method a try.
This is what her lashes looked like before she used the technique:
Here’s how it goes…
Step 1: Procure a small wooden stick that looks tiny enough for your eyelashes. Then, grab a lighter. You can also apply mascara at this point.
Step 2: Carefully run the end of your wooden stick (a few inches will do) through the lighter’s flame. Do this until the stick becomes warm – not hot. We repeat: do not burn the stick or make it super hot.
Step 3 (the most important step): Wave your stick in the air, so it cools. Then, lightly test it on your hand to make sure it isn’t too hot.
Step 4: With caution, use the stick to push your eyelashes upward. Essentially, you are using the warm (not hot) stick to curl your lashes. If your mascara is clumpy, the heat should also help to break up these clumps. Note: be so so so so careful because this part of the procedure could easily take an unfortunate turn.
Step 5: Marvel at your curly lashes! And give yourself a pat on the back for being as careful as can be.

Then again, if you feel that this technique is a bit too risky, there’s many other products and techniques you can try. You can check out the plethora of great mascara reviews out there. You can also try fake lashes. And if you instead want to learn to love and embrace your lashes as they are, that’s great, too!
T0inky also talks about eyelash curlers, electric eyelash curlers, her favorite mascaras, and even eyelash perms in her video:
