Behold: The most expensive Twinkie, like, ever

For $125 bucks you could buy yourself a four-course meal. Or perhaps, you’d prefer a Twinkie. Yes, there have been times (like when the death of the Twinkie seemed imminent) that boxes of Twinkies were selling for big bucks on eBay. But with Twinkies back in good standing, a solitary Hostess cake that costs over a hundie is kind of insane.

But wait, there’s an explanation for the price-tag. This is a $125 Twinkie, drenched in black caviar (and dappled with powdered sugar). Just ‘cuz.

OK, there’s actually a reason for the Hostess snack’s upscale remake. You can currently find this caviar drenched Twinkie at the Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa, California. The fair is celebrating its 125th anniversary, so for a small price of $125, you can grab this high-society Twinkie of your own. Get it? 125 years, for a price of $125? And it’s covered in caviar? Oh, what will they think of next.

If you’re someone who’s like, “yes, I need to buy this, and Instagram it,” we salute you. Also, you can find the caviar Twinkie at the Chicken Charlie’s booth. Their website boasts other foods like chicken and waffles, and deep fried Oreos, if you don’t think you’ve got the cash to drop on a Twinkie covered in fish-eggs (because that’s what caviar is, and I’m so sorry if I just shattered that illusion for anyone).

The OC Fair runs from July 17, 2015 to August 16, 2015, so hold off buying $2.99 Twinkie boxes for right now. You’ve got your eyes on a much bigger prize.
