Ewan McGregor tells Jimmy Kimmel about his sneaky cameo in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”

Did you catch Ewan McGregor in the new Star Wars film? If so, you’re a really good listener. While the Scottish actor didn’t fully reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi, that doesn’t mean he was completely forgotten. Turns out, he had one line in the movie, and he told Jimmy Kimmel all about it.

Last month we discovered that Star Wars: The Force Awakens features some awesome voice cameos, including Ewan McGregor, Frank Oz, and even the late Alec Guinness. During a dream-like sequence, Ewan can be heard saying, “Rey, these are your first steps.” Even that one line was a pretty big deal, especially since, as Ewan explains, he had been waiting for the call to be in the new movie for some time.

His cameo also featured some clever voice-melding, and even gave the actor a first look at the film before anyone else.
