Even though they’re dating, The Weeknd still likes to Insta-stalk Selena Gomez
We’ve all had that moment where you meet someone you like and you head straight to their Instagram to scope them out (being very careful not to accidentally double tap a picture from, like, three years ago). Yet, even though they’re dating, The Weeknd is still Insta-stalking Selena Gomez, and it’s actually kinda adorable.
Now, we know that SelGo and The Weeknd are totally official. The pair have appeared on each other’s Instagram accounts, and in May stepped out together on the red carpet at the Met Gala (looking rather splendid together, too). And while there was some chatter that the couple might be working together on music, Selena quickly shut down any speculation.
Given that the pair have been dating for a while, however, you might expect that The Weeknd, the moniker for Abel Tesfaye, might be over that part in a new relationship where you go through someone’s social media posts (hey, we’ve all done it, right?).
However, one beady-eyed fan on social media noticed that The Weeknd had been deep diving into Selena Gomez’s Instagram account.
Given that Selena is the most followed person on the platform, it’s understandable that her new BF might want some tips for his own account. Yet, it seems that the singer has gone all the way back to 2015 in scoping out some of SelGo’s pics. false

Indeed, The Weeknd even liked this picture of Selena, which sees the fellow singer rocking a significantly different look than the one that she favors today.
Tbh, it’s actually super cute that Abel has been visiting Selena’s Insta, and we love the idea that he’s just checking to look at pictures of her because they’re SO IN LOVE and SO HAPPY!
In fact, Selena Gomez recently shared with Ryan Seacrest why her and her new boo wanted to go public with their relationship.
“It’s really hard…to spend so much time hiding things. It’s too much pressure, and I think everyone gets over everything eventually,” she said. “I just want to be happy. If that’s me just being myself, then I don’t really care.”

While it’s totally okay, adorable, and not awkward at all for The Weeknd to be going on an Insta-stalk of his current girlfriend, the same can’t necessarily be said for those moments where you find yourself scrolling through that random Tinder match’s account and you accidentally double tap a picture from, like, 2014. Now that can be mortifying…
This little like-fest of Abel’s, however, is just a sign that these two are pretty into each other.
