Evan Rachel Wood regrets overplucking her brows and we can so relate

Evan Rachel Wood is known for keeping things fresh and daring, and definitely doesn’t conform to trends. The actress is consistently true to herself, but in her recent profile in Glamour, the Thirteen star opened up about the one thing she does regret when it comes to her looks and we can probably all relate.

“When I was in my early twenties, I plucked out all my eyebrows and drew them on,” she said. “I was going for a goth-y, more grungy version of a pinup—I was so into these Old Hollywood movie stars. It was really fun at the time, but I look back and I’m like, ‘Why did you pluck all your eyebrows out, dude?’

Now, thick and full eyebrows are all the rage — we actually try to make them look bigger (or, on fleek, if you will), so it makes sense that anything slim and finely plucked would seem a little out of place. But that’s the only time Evan has thought twice about her beauty choices. For instance, she’s always marched to the beat of her own drum when it comes to her hair, which people told her not to cut.

Growing up, somebody said I didn’t have the face for short hair,” she remembered. “But I think your hair can change the way you feel about yourself. I cut my hair into a mohawk when I was 23. That was [five years ago], and I’ve never really grown it back. I felt such freedom.

Nobody has the wrong body for anything when it comes to style and beauty, it’s only “wrong” if you don’t feel comfortable. In Evan’s case, short hair feels like the truest expression of herself — and we admire every inch of it.
