Eva Mendes opened up about her home life with Ryan Gosling and their daughters

Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling are pretty private about their relationship. But recently, Mendes offered a rare update on their kids. Gosling and Mendes welcomed baby number 2, Amada Lee, early last year. Their eldest daughter, Esmerelda Amada, was born in 2014. We super love when Gosling talks about Mendes and his baby girls, but it doesn’t happen too often.

Though Mendes is humble — their home life is very modest, and the opposite of what you’d expect in Hollywood — it must be noted that she is an incredibly talented actress. Plus, she sleeps next to Ryan freakin’ Gosling. So everyone in that household is doing well.

Mendes shared that Esmerelda is now three years old. She’s also bilingual, thanks to Mendes’s parents.

"Esmeralda mostly speaks Spanglish right now. It’s really cute. She’s definitely bilingual, and it’s really important for us to make sure that she’s not only just familiar with the language, but also with the culture," Mendes told People Chica. "My mom, who lives 15 minutes away, makes it is easy because she speaks to the girls in Spanish and cooks them Cuban food."

(Hi, sign us up as their nanny.)

Mendes also noted that they are always listening to Cuban music around the house. Though their youngest daughter Amada is probably not quite of speaking age yet, we are sure she will have a similar bilingual upbringing like her big sis.

We love that Gosling and Mendes are keeping their kids’ Cuban heritage alive.

It helps to have her parents so close by.

"We’re always listening to Cuban music. It really is a big part of our way of life. I wouldn’t have it any other way," Mendes continued. "My dad, who has been here for 45 years and still doesn’t speak English, is a real asset. It’s so cool because now that I’m trying to make sure that my girls speak Spanish, it’s like, ‘Ok, Dad, take them,’ because I know that all they’re going to speak with him is Spanish."

Mendes and Gosling are some of the coolest parents in Hollywood. Amada and Esmerelda will definitely grow up to be smart, well-rounded girls. Oh, and they probably have great acting genes too.

We’re too happy for them to be jealous!
