Eva Longoria tells us the surprising product she uses to remove her makeup

It’s no secret that celebrities have access to the best skin care products on the market. Whether it’s Tatcha’s Rice Enzyme Power (Meghan Markle is reportedly a fan) or La Mer’s classic Crème de la Mer (Jennifer Lopez was rumored to have smothered herself in it from head to toe), celebs usually share items that are way out of our budget. So it’s refreshing when an A-lister reveals a skin care essential that doesn’t dig into our savings.

Case in point: Eva Longoria told HelloGiggles she removes her makeup with a surprising product—one we can easily find at the drugstore for a few bucks. “Sometimes I use baby oil as a makeup remover,” she said. Since giving birth to four-month-old Santiago Enrique Bastón (with husband José “Pepe” Bastón), it makes sense Longoria would use a product gentle enough for babies.

But just because the actress uses baby oil as makeup remover doesn’t mean her beauty routine has changed drastically since motherhood. If anything, she’s more conscious about what she puts on her son. “My beauty routine hasn’t changed. I’m actually more aware of sunblock for [Santiago] when we’re out.”

Although, the one thing Longoria likes to indulge in is a little self-care. “I love massages and baths, I could do those daily,” she said. “I use that time for me during the evening; it’s my escape.” But, more interestingly, the star shared the main things that cheer her up when she’s in a bad mood.

That’s why you’ll see her working with an array of organizations and campaigns, including one that hits close to home. Last month, she teamed up with Novartis on the Kiss This 4 MBC campaign, which raises awareness and funds for metastatic breast cancer. So why is this project important to Longoria? Her sister was impacted by breast cancer, and is now in remission.

When the actress/activist isn’t doing philanthropic work or fighting for gender and racial rights with the Time’s Up movement (which she said they’ve “established a legal defense fund, which is a huge deal.”), she’s taking care of her skin with an easy drugstore find. We love a relatable beauty tip, and we love Longoria’s mission even more.
