Essie’s new ballerina-inspired gel nail polish collection is “en pointe”

Essie’s latest collection of Gel Couture shades is inspired by the ballet, and we’ve got to get it on our fingers (and toes!)

The six dreamy shades are part of Essie’s DIY long-wear, no-lamp gel-like polish line. The two-step system promises up to 14 days of wear, for half the price of a salon gel manicure. The colors go for $11.50 a bottle, and for two weeks of wear, you’ll be able to put the money you save on the salon toward ballet classes!

The colors are: Satin Slipper (a champagne ivory), Lace Me Up (a rose pink), Hold the Position (a coral peach pink), At the Barre (a cinnamon nude), Perfect Posture (a periwinkle powder blue), and Closing Night (a soft shimmer gray.)

Essie is the prima ballerina of naming polishes! Those sassy subtle double entendres, those aspirational names (did anyone else sit up straight when they read “Perfect Posture”?) Don’t forget the top coat, it seals the deal with a gel-like finish and staying power. These polishes don’t need a base coat — how easy is this?

Seriously, even the bottles look like ballerinas posing.

Essie’s best selling neutral and French manicure base, Ballet Slippers, is a manicurist and client fave, so it figures that another ballet-inspired theme will be a hit!

The iconic Ballet Slippers:

Essie swatched the shades on their Snapchat and Instagram story a few days ago, but here’s a peek if you missed it.

Essie always comes correct with the pale blues.

These soft shades will help you make an elegant transition from winter to spring.

The Ballet Nudes from Essie Gel Couture retail $11.50 per bottle.
