This epic 250-person wedding dance shot in one take is totally mesmerizing
Robert and Teresa Ly got hitched this month. But instead of focusing on lace and tradition, they decided to have a little bit of fun. At the end of the wedding reception, they got all 250 of their wedding guests involved in making the most epic wedding video of all wedding videos. . . with music.
Throughout the reception, the guests had no idea that there was a hidden manila envelope taped underneath each table. Just 10 minutes before cameras started rolling, they were told about the “secret mission” and get into position. The goal: to make a rad music video involving everyone at the wedding in just one take. And they totally did it.
The video starts with Robert and Teresa giving the guests a little pep-talk — and then suddenly, they launch into “Love Is An Open Door,” from Frozen. As they move around the room, the songs change and the guests get involved, with a guy wearing fake buttocks (YEP) shaking it to Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda,” the group dancing to Psy’s “Gangham Style,” and Teresa lip-syncing to Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off.” Honestly, we’re not even sure how many songs are jam-packed in there, because it’s a pretty wild ride, ESPECIALLY when you take into consideration that it’s all done in just one take, only ten minutes after guests were even told about the routine.
Since being posted last Sunday, the video has been viewed almost 700,000 times, being shared all over the darn place. And for good reason — it’s so wonderful to have all of the special people in your life together, having fun, celebrating love all while shakin’ their butts (a little too literally, in the above case) to the music.
This sort of crazy stunt isn’t exactly uncharacteristic for Robert and Teresa, who had a superhero-themed wedding (Robert even proposed by taking off his clothes to reveal a superhero costume underneath) and own a ninja-themed sushi restaurant. They seem like the kind of couple who will pull something awesome for every major event in their life. We can only imagine what a possible pregnancy announcement from these two would look like!
Check out the video below and be prepared to somehow have, like, 18 million songs stuck in your head all at the same time. Congratulations, Robert and Teresa!
