The first Emmys promo is here and, oh yes, we are excited

Ever since the Emmy nominations were announced last month by the amazing Uzo Aduba, we’ve been on the edge of our seats waiting to hear more news. House of Cards, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, American Horror Story: Freak Show, Mad Men, Downton Abbey, Inside Amy Schumer — these are just a FEW of the many shows that got (totally deserved) noms.

The Emmys are now less than a month away — September 20th — and the very first promo is here. It’s a super quick watch at just 30 seconds, but it gave us a taste of how awesome Andy Samberg’s gonna be as a host.

“We’ve all heard of the seven dirty words you can’t say on TV,” Andy says in the promo. “But what about the seven words that sound dirty that you can say?”

Yep. Andy decided to use his 30 seconds to highlight not the seven dirty words you can’t say on TV (we miss you, George Carlin!), but the seven words that SOUND dirty that you CAN say. . . such as corkscrew, kumquat, and dictaphone. Lawlz.

Other than finding out who will go home with fabulous awards, there are plenty of reasons to watch this year — like, c’mon, Andy’s hosting, and the Comedy Bang! Bang! team is writing, so the night is sure to be filled with hilarity. And here’s hoping that Andy will bring out some of his former SNL co-stars — Tina and Amy, PLEEEASE.
