Emma Watson answering kids’ questions is like a scene from a fairy tale
As Hermione Granger in all eight Harry Potter films, Emma Watson developed quite the young fanbase. Now that she’s starring in the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast, that fanbase of kiddos is growing! The proof: While promoting Beauty and the Beast, kids asked Watson their toughest questions, and the results are the sweetest.
Entertainment Weekly asked kids to send in their questions to Disney’s newest Belle (technically their parents did the sending). The questions she received are thoughtful and adorable, proving that kids really are the best interviewers.
Watson was given an iPad loaded with questions from kids, and she graciously answered all of them, and gave some really good life advice in the process. Because that’s just the type of hero she is.
Five-year-old Amira asked Watson how she liked the Beast.
"The Beast at first was a) pretty scary and b) pretty rude, so not very much at the beginning," Watson said. "But I could tell that he was kind of grouchy and mean because he was really sad. I think I could see that he was really sad. And I sort of knew that he was good underneath. Things got better."
Five-year-old Jacob asked the question we’ve all secretly always wanted to know — who would win in a fight between Harry Potter and Darth Vader?
"Harry Potter. Definitely. Obviously. You're only going to get so far in life when you're cold and dry and mean," she said. "You're not going to win in the end. You'll do fine, but you're not going to win in the end."
And the cutest pint-sized interviewers of all, 20-month-old twins Riley and Addison, asked (well, sort of babbled) who Watson would invite over as a guest. Her answer? Michelle Obama for a quick pep talk.
So obviously Watson is all of us.
