Emma Watson helped Emily Ratajkowski define her femininity

It’s always important to have strong female role models. Emily Ratajkowski actually credited Emma Watson for being hers. In a recent interview with Glamour UK, Ratajkowski quoted Watson when asked about the subject of feminism, and we find that to be incredibly inspiring.

Ratajkowski, an actress and a model, must have been listening pretty intently to Watson’s interviews over the years.

It’s no secret that Watson is quite an outspoken activist for gender equality — she was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for U.N. Women back in 2014, and even formed her own women-centered book club. And, let’s not forget the fact that she’s mentioned how men and women should be paid equally quite a bit.

We have a feeling that Ratajkowski watched that speech quite a few times, since she seems totally on board with Watson’s point of view.

"To start saying that certain people need to have a license to be feminist is insane," Ratajkowski said to Glamour UK. "Emma Watsonsaid feminism isn’t some kind of tool to beat other women with, it’s supposed to be a freedom of choice."

Ratajkowski also has set views on sexuality, which are pretty refreshing.

"I want women to understand their own sexuality outside of a patriarchal male gaze," she said. "We’re the core of sexual beings, and I think that’s something that should be celebrated rather than attacked."

We couldn’t agree more. It looks like she is firm on getting this message across, since she’s had a tweet pinned since 2016 that states something pretty similar.

It’s great that so many young celebrities are speaking out about feminism and femininity. And it’s just wonderful that these role models are truly listening to what their peers have to say about incredibly important issues like these.
