Emma Stone looks like she’s getting ready to write a mystery novel in these film festival portraits
Just before she made her grand entrance at the Denver Film Festival on Wednesday night (where she nailed old Hollywood glam), Emma Stone sat down for a photoshoot that left her looking like a legit mystery novelist.
Stone is in Denver for the premiere of her new film La La Land, starring herself and Ryan Gosling. She made an impactful fashion statement on the red carpet in a stunning Chanel gown, and looked like the most beautiful goth queen there ever was.
But it was the portraits photographer John Leyba took of Stone just before the premiere that we’re obsessing over.
Because she is seriously channeling the author photos of novelists like John Grisham, James Patterson, and Patricia Cornwell.
Perhaps it’s the turtleneck, the hair, the look on her face, or the pose that screams “I’m the greatest mystery novelist of all time.” It’s probably all of those things put together.
Just look at her perfect pose:
This one’s more comedic mystery novelist:
Stone clearly had a great time shooting the portraits. We can only imagine what was going through her head during those moments. The photos were shot RIGHT before she put on her gorgeous Chanel gown for the premiere of her movie. So very Hollywood!
