Emma Stone looks like a kickass goth queen in this gown-and-jacket pairing

The purpose of a red carpet is to make a statement, and that’s exactly what happened yesterday. Emma Stone kicked off the Denver Film Festival on Wednesday with a strut down the red carpet, and she looked absolutely stunning.

Stone was there for the premiere of her new film La La Land, which also stars the lovely Ryan Gosling. Directed by Academy Award nominee Damien Chazelle, the romantic musical comedy-drama follows a musician and aspiring actress who meet and fall in love in Los Angeles.

And then, you know, other adorable things happen, but we don’t want to spoil anything.

At the premiere in Denver, Stone wore the most gorgeous gown, and looked like a straight-up goth queen.

But then she added this leather jacket and… WOW:

Stone didn’t stick around to watch the film, and TBH, we don’t blame her. You can only watch yourself SO many times on a big screen in the same movie before you start to get really, really sick of yourself.

"I can't watch that again," Stone told the Denver Post. "My God, that's enough of my face. I'll take a break for tonight, but I hope you guys enjoy it."

We, on the other hand, can’t wait to see her face on the big screen. Gosling’s, too, of course. La La Land is set to premiere December 9th and we are pumped.
