Emma Stone’s “adorable love story” with Jennifer Lawrence involves a random guy who kept texting them both
Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone are one of our fave A-list friendships, but did you know that the two actresses texted for a year before getting together in person — and that their first meeting was almost thwarted by a random guy who kept texting them both?
Emma Stone tells the bizarre and “adorable” story of their first meeting in a new interview with W Magazine:
“Jennifer Lawrence and I both had the same stalker, John the Orchestra Guy. He would text us both and say things like ‘I’m running late on my way to the soundstage. Can you warm up the orchestra for me? Text me back and let me know you got this.’ He wasn’t really a stalker. He must have worked at a studio or something, because he had a lot of people’s numbers. Jen and I texted for a year before we actually met,” Stone told the magazine. “As she was driving to my house, she thought, ‘Oh, my God, what if it’s John the Orchestra Guy?’ And I thought, ‘Oh, my God, what if it’s John the Orchestra Guy?’ So Jen calls me and says, ‘I just want to make sure you’re not John the Orchestra Guy.’ I wasn’t. And we met. It’s our adorable love story.’”
The fact that they texted for a year before meeting up is the celebrity equivalent of online dating for us normies. You really don’t know if the person you’re texting is Emma Stone or some dude named John the Orchestra Guy.
In November 2016, Lawrence told Vanity Fair that it was mutual pal Woody Harrelson who slipped Lawrence’s number to Stone.
“She texted me that she got my number from Woody,” Lawrence told Vanity Fair. “I replied, ‘Fuck off!’ And we’ve been really good friends ever since.”
