Emma Stone, Spice Girls superfan, changed her name because of Baby Spice

Emma Stone is a Baby Spice superfan, thank you very much. So much so that the La La Land actress had her name, Emily Stone, changed to Emma to match that of the Spice Girls’ Baby Spice—government name Emma Bunton. In an appearance on Thursday, November 8th’s Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Stone told the late night host that “I was super blonde, and my real name is Emily, but I wanted to be called Emma because of Baby Spice and guess what, now I am. So, that’s pretty messed up.” Messed up…or amazing.
She continued: "It wasn’t necessarily because of her, but yes, in second grade, did I go up to the teacher and ask her to call me Emma, yes I did. And was it because of Emma Lee Bunton from the Spice Girls? Yes it was.

Naturally, Stone was over the moon about news of the British girl group’s reunion summer stadium tour next year. The Spice Girls enthusiast told Fallon: “I saw them in concert in the ‘90s. I saw them at O2 Arena in 2008, and they recently announced a new tour and I will be going to that somehow. I don’t think tickets are on sale yet, but I’m gonna figure it out.”
After months of speculation, the Spice Girls announced an official six-date tour across the U.K.; the group dropped an announcement video on Twitter on November 5th. In the clip, Melanie Brown, Geri Horner, Melanie Chisholm, and Emma Bunton shared the big news. Victoria Beckham, otherwise known as Posh Spice, will not be joining the tour.

Stone’s love for the British girl group has been well documented. In 2014, The Amazing Spider-Man actress was brought to tears over a personalized video from Mel B herself. Quick. Who’s a bigger Baby Spice superfan: Emma Stone with her name change or Blake Lively with that infamous Baby Spice photo? Yep, hard to tell.
