Emma Roberts has officially started a book club, and obviously we’re joining
If you’ve been thinking of joining a book club, Emma Roberts is right there on the book train with you. As a matter of fact, The Scream Queens star extended an e-invite to all her social media friends to join her very own book club, Belletrist.
The actress is also a self-professed avid reader, so she’s banded together with her pal Karah Preiss to bring the e-book club to life. Emma excitedly announced the news herself this morning, writing: “Good morning [sunshines] I’m so excited to finally share @belletrist with you!”
"You guys know I love to read. I'm constantly posting what I'm reading and wanting to know what you're reading! So @kpreiss and I thought why now start a #bookclub where we can all read and discuss together in one place?"
Sounds like a great idea, sister!
After some serious investigative journalism googling, we discovered Belletrist is probably a play on the term “belles-lettres,” an old-school French term describing beautiful literature. Our second guess is that it’s derivative of our favorite Harry Potter villainess, Bellatrix. Either assumption could fly, we suppose.
As of today, the social media book club has launched its own Instagram account and has thus far acquired upwards of twelve thousand followers. Not too shabby, ladies!
With a pretty collection of snapshots including wanderlust bookstores, rosy libraries, and classic pics of Audrey Hepburn, we’re already loving this account. And while not every post is a book recommendation, they have suggested Dee Well’s Jane and Tennessee Williams’ Moise and the World of Reason to get you started.
Suffice to say, we’re pretty stoked for book club Belletrist to take off. In the meantime, Emma promises that “there are more surprises to come…”
