Emma Approved #SoExcited
Remember when I wrote that gushy and unbelievably happy post about how much I was loving The Lizzie Bennet Diaries?
Well aside from their super exciting Emmy win this week – seriously, readers, I squealed like a little child – they are coming out with something new in the nearish future, and I? I CANNOT WAIT.
The new project is called Emma Approved. All we have right now is a landing page (see the picture featured above) and the tease, “Coming Soon”. It acts like it might let you click on the page and go somewhere but nothing happens.
I know I’m not the only girl on the Internet waiting with baited breath for another chapter in new millennial regency drama. Well, first of all, I am sure there area also boys on the Internet who are waiting with baited breath too. But for reals, are you excited?
The assumed adaptation will be of Jane Austen’s classic novel Emma, which I just happen to be rereading right now. Nothing is known by the general public. The runners of the shows are being infuriatingly coy about the actors, the timeline, the possible plot that will be at the center of this new video series.
I have to admit: not knowing anything almost has me more excited about it. In this time of spoiler alerts and spoiler hate that the internet lives with, the unbelievably tight lid that the team creating this show has kept on all details is awesome. I have no fear that I’m going to come across something I didn’t want to know even though I follow half the writers of the LBD and the producers, and they are all keeping their lips and tweeting-fingers sealed.
If you’re in need of a fix of the world of Pemberley Digital, and for some reason you have not been keeping up, Welcome to Sanditon recently finished off. It’s a true transmedia project with Gigi Darcy at the center and a number of adorable side characters that I really hope pop up in future projects that the company does.
Really, I can’t be more effusive in my praise of the wonderful things this group of creators is doing. Not only is it all completely modern and technophilic but it is introducing a whole new generation of readers to the wonders of Jane Austen.
I’m excited to see where they go next. I will be tuning in weekly to see what adventures this lovely Emma gets up to, and I hope that you do too.
