Emily Ratajkowski Says Divorce Isn’t “A Sad Thing” and She’s Keeping Her Ring

"I love a divorce story," Emily Ratajkowski said on her podcast, 'High Low with EmRata.'

Emily Ratajkowski is keeping a sparkly souvenir from her marriage to ex-husband Sebastian Bear-McClard: her wedding ring. The model gave a reason as to why while chatting with her most recent podcast guest, actor and activist Tommy Dorfman, on Monday’s episode of High Low with EmRata.

“I love a divorce story,” Ratajkowski admitted. “Every time I hear a divorce story or when I see the news, I have to remind myself, ‘Oh that’s sad.’ I literally say to people, ‘Good for you.’”

Dorfman, who went through a divorce of her own, too, recently, revealed their split actually led her to a similar view on divorce. “I think my ex-husband, who I’m really, really good friends with still, would tell you this is the best thing that could have happened to us,” Dorfman confessed.

In February 2022, Dorfman and husband Peter Zurkhulen filed for divorce after five years of marriage. The pair were introduced to one another through a mutual friend in 2005. They got engaged in 2015 and married in 2016, before separating in 2021.

Ratajkowski acknowledged that every relationship is different, as someone’s reason to end the marriage. However, divorce isn’t necessarily always “a sad thing” she argues, especially if it’s for the sake of bettering your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health.

“I know a lot of people are unhappily married for a long time because they’re so afraid of divorce and I don’t think that’s a good way to live,” the podcast host said.

When asked by her fellow divorcée what she did with her wedding ring, the My Body author responded, “I still have it.”

The duo wrapped up their heart-to-heart clinking to divorce. “Well, cheers to divorce!,” Ratajkowski sang.

Since her public breakup from Bear-McClard, Ratajkowski has been easing her way back into the dating pool. Some of her recent dates, including one with Brad Pitt, have caused quite a splash.

Back in November, Ratajkowski was romantically linked to Pete Davidson following a report that the two had been set up by mutual friends. Later that month the pair made headlines again when they were photographed giggling and getting cozy courtside at a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden. Whispers of their rumored romance came to a halt in January after EmRata opened up about her experience with dating men who “don’t know how to handle” independent women.

“They slowly get emasculated, and they don’t know what to do with those feelings, and they resent you, and then they start to tear you down,” Ratajkowski previously mentioned on her podcast. “And then you’re just back to square one.”

“But I’m like, ‘How about you just be better at expressing your emotions and being there emotionally? That would be great,’” she quipped.

Davidson has since moved on, and not just from his fling with Ratajkowski. The Saturday Night Live alum recently removed tattoos once dedicated to his ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian. He’s also been seen cuddling up with his costar Chase Sui Wonders in Hawaii.

Meanwhile, Ratajkowski embarked on a romantic beach getaway with Eric André, host and creator of The Eric Andre Show. Based on photos, it looks like the pair are definitely in the heavy-petting stage of their coupling.
