Emily Ratajkowski Doesn’t Have Time to Date Men Who “Don’t Know How to Handle” Powerful Women

She couldn't possibly be calling out comedian heartthrob Pete Davidson — could she?!

Emily Ratajkowski doesn’t need a man to tell her she’s successful. She just wants a partner who packs some emotional intelligence. But according to her dating experience, that can be too big of an ask for some men.

On Tuesday’s episode of the High Low with EmRata podcast, the supermodel opened up about her love life and the trials that come along with dating men who “don’t know how to handle” independent women.

“They slowly get emasculated, and they don’t know what to do with those feelings, and they resent you, and then they start to tear you down,” Ratajkowski explained to her guest, TikTok influencer and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie model Olivia Ponton. “And then you’re just back to square one.”

Ratajkowski also pointed out that it’s time women are stop being made to feel “special” because they’ve “done it.” “It” being the whole strong, independent woman thing — because, guess what? She already knows she’s both strong and independent. She doesn’t need you to tell her that.

The mom argued that if man truly did want an independent partner, they’d be finding other ways to make them feel seen and heard. The relationship would be built on “respect” and not made out to “feel like somebody’s taking something away from someone else.”

“Weirdly with heteronormative relationships, I feel like that happens,” she continued. “The strength and the power is associated with the masculine, and once the woman has that, the man doesn’t know what else he has.”

“But I’m like, ‘How about you just be better at expressing your emotions and being there emotionally? That would be great,’” she quipped.

Ratajkowski’s stance on the matter comes one week following her rumored split from Pete Davidson, whom she was reportedly getting cozy with last fall. Of course, fans couldn’t help but point out that the episode seemed like she was casting a bit of shade towards the Saturday Night Live alum.

Albeit, Ratajkowksi didn’t mention any of her former flames by name. For all we know, she was referring to ex-rumored fling Brad Pitt or her ex-husband Sebastian Bear-McClard!
