Emily Blunt is now a US citizen and we are totally glad to have her

Congratulations to actress Emily Blunt, who recently became a United States citizen! It’s not an easy process — on top of all the paperwork and wait time, there’s a super difficult test and a lot of hoops to jump through. But Blunt, who is married to American actor John Krasinski, can officially claim the U.S. of A. as her country.

In fact, it was made totally official on Ellen yesterday, when Blunt stopped by to talk about her upcoming film Sicario. While dressed as Lady Liberty herself and belting out “Yankee Doodle,” she was treated to a bit of an unexpected surprise. Welcome to the club, Emily!
