Emily Blunt walked the red carpet in a glam tuxedo, proving she should be our next James Bond
John Krasinski and Emily Blunt always dress to impress, but they might have outdone themselves with their latest looks. On Sunday, February 17th, Krasinski and Blunt attended the 2019 Writers Guild Awards. A Quiet Place, which Krasinski co-wrote, directed, and starred in, was nominated for Best Original Screenplay. While the honor ended up going to Bo Burnham for Eighth Grade, Krasinski and Blunt still won an honorary category: best dressed on the red carpet.
Krasinski wore a simple but stylish black velvet suit jacket. And Blunt took a page from her husband’s book, though her look was anything but simple. ET Online reports that she donned a black Dolce & Gabbana baroque-print suit, an oversized bow tie, and black Jimmy Choo heels.
Who wore it better: Krasinski, or Blunt?
While John looks very dapper in his velvet suit jacket, we have to give this one to Emily: the oversized bow tie is hard to beat. Plus, she’s perfectly accessorized with her giant ring and Jimmy Choos. And the pop of light pink lipstick adds a subtle feminine touch that pulls the whole outfit together. Honestly, she could—no, should—be the next James Bond. (No offense, Idris.)
When it comes to the red carpet, Emily Blunt can do no wrong.
We already know Blunt has impeccable style. We’re still thinking about the white Yanina Couture gown she wore to the premiere of Mary Poppins Returns last November. She looked, well, practically perfect in every way.
But of course, the best red carpet look is the look of love. And Krasinski and Blunt have that in spades.
You know what they say: The couple that twins on the red carpet together, stays together.
