Anne Hathaway only married her husband because she “couldn’t get” Emily Blunt — so take THAT, John Krasinski
John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are one of our favorite celebrity couples. But if things had gone differently, we might be shipping John Krasinski and Anne Hathaway right now. Or even…Emily Blunt and Anne Hathaway?! During the couple’s recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Hathaway’s name came up. Blunt made a joke about how her husband often watches The Devil Wears Prada (and like, #same). Krasinski fired back, joking that the only reason he was with Blunt was because he couldn’t get a date with Hathaway.
“There’s a sort of montage sequence where Annie Hathaway’s got numerous fabulous outfits that they go through,” Blunt explained. “And John, one day I came home, and he was watching it. And he was watching the montage bit. And he goes, ‘Aaaaaand that’s my favorite outfit.’”
“Well, I couldn’t get Annie, and so I was like, ‘Ohhhh…’” Krasinski joked in return.
Well, Hathaway has responded to their adorable interview with a joke of our own. She took to Instagram to share a screenshot of a headline that read: “John Krasinski Jokes That He Romanced Emily Blunt When He ‘Couln’t Get’ Anne Hathaway.” But instead of teasing that she would have been on board with dating Krasinski, the actress hilariously flipped the script and professed her love for Blunt.
"John, I'm only with Adam because I couldn't get Emily," Hathaway joked on Instagram.
Honestly, we relate so hard. Emily Blunt is seriously amazing.
Like, the most amazing.
But considering that Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are total #RelationshipGoals, everything probably worked out for the best.
Maybe it’s finally time for that Devil Wears Prada sequel we’ve all been wanting. The story possibilities for Andy and Emily are endless now! And hey, why not through a Krasinski cameo in for good measure? Thanks, Hollywood!
