“Once Upon a Time’s” Emilie de Ravin Tweets about flight attendant who refused to let her have breast pump

Another day, another woman harassed for wanting to breastfeed her child.

This time it’s Once Upon a Time actress Emilie de Ravin, who Tweeted yesterday about a harrowing experience with an American Airlines employee at LAX. de Ravin wrote that she was “grabbed forcefully” and had her breast pump carry-on bag “ripped out of my hand” while attempting to board her flight.

She wrote,

“ther is NO excuse 4 physical force being used on someone trying to take her breast pump carry on.NOT OK.”

Take a look at her account of the incident:

American Airlines issued a statement to E! News“American Airlines is looking into the situation and apologizes to the customer for the inconvenience. Passengers are allowed to have two carry-on items. A breast pump is considered a medical device and should’ve been allowed on the plane, which eventually it was.”

de Ravin gave birth to her baby girl Vera Audrey de Ravin-Bilitch back in March, Tweeting, “Couldn’t be happier! So in love with our little girl!” The baby’s father—and de Ravin’s boyfriend—is director Eric Bilitch, whose adorable Twitter bio reads, “I make films and I’m lucky enough to be Vera’s dad.” AWWW!

We hope de Ravin’s AA experience gets sorted out, because we’re ready to live in a world where moms can feed their babies without shame.
