Emilia Clarke says she and Kit Harington are totally “in sync” in this one specific way
For better or worse, the eighth and final Game of Thrones season is set to grace our screens on April 14th. And now, many of the show’s actors are attempting to process the end of this epic (and incredibly brutal) era…just as much as we are. In an interview with Variety, Queen of Dragons Emilia Clarke (aka Daenerys Targaryen) spoke about her time on the show, as well as her special bond with Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow.
Specifically, Clarke opened up about how she and Harington have had very parallel experiences since getting cast in the now-iconic series, and revealed that sometimes he’s the only person in the world who truly understands what she’s going through.
“Kit and I are counterparts in terms of experience,” she said. “We are pretty much the same age, and our characters have had parallel journeys, and we as actors have had parallel journeys. We’ve both done stupid action movies we regret and fabulous things we’re proud of, and we’ve always come back to Thrones.”
She continued: "And he’s the person I’d ask, ‘How are you handling this? Are you alright?’ We were in sync, even if we were filming on opposite sides of the world."
And, from the way last season ended, their characters are going to be um, extremely in sync in the upcoming episodes (wink, wink, nudge, nudge…okay, we’ll stop now).
While the series finale is definitely going to leave a giant Game of Thrones-shaped hole in our hearts, we also can’t wait to see what Clarke, Harington, and the entire GoT crew does next. Now…we wait until April 14th.
