Emilia Clarke just revealed what happens when Daenerys meets Sansa and Arya in the GoT premiere

Fans of Game of Thrones have been waiting for the final season for almost two years now, and we’re finally about to find out what fate befalls our favorite characters. While most of the plot surrounding Season 8 have been kept under lock and key, we do know that the show’s many story lines are about to finally converge for an epic battle between living and (un)dead. As a result, characters who’ve been living on opposite sides of the world will probably encounter each other for the first time—like Daenerys, Sansa, and Arya, as Emilia Clarke recently explained.

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Emilia Clarke revealed that Daenerys will meet the Stark sisters in the first episode of the season. Clarke said that because Dany needs Jon Snow and his allies to cooperate (and because they’re, you know, kind of a thing now), she also needs to get along with Sansa and Arya.

"I like to think that it’s like 'Meet the Parents,'" Clarke told EW. "It’s like: 'I hope they like me. This dude’s wicked. It’s a real good thing we got going on. He’s the final piece. We’re destined for greatness and world domination is a breath away.' And so I need to be like: 'Can I braid your hair, Sansa? Little Arya, come over here, let’s play some cricket.' So there’s that. And then, very, very quickly, it’s like: 'Wait, is it just me, or do they hate me?'"

We can only imagine how awkward a Stark-Targaryen meeting might be, given the two houses’ fraught history (though Sansa and Arya do have a pretty compelling reason to trust Daenerys when there are White Walkers threatening their existence). We can’t wait to see how this all plays out when Season 8 finally premieres on April 14th.
