Ellie Kemper just gave birth to her first baby! Kimmy Schmidt is a mom, kinda!

Kimmy Schmidt is a mom! Well, kinda. Ellie Kemper gave birth on Monday night. This is the first baby for Kemper, who plays Kimmy Schmidt in the Netflix series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and her husband, Michael Komen. No official details of the baby have been released but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate! (No but seriously, Kemper, we need a name immediately.)

Kemper managed to keep the news of her pregnancy pretty low-key. The actress found out she was pregnant while filming the second season of Kimmy Schmidt. She didn’t tell her co-workers, but there was one lucky person who got to be in the know, her boss and the show’s creator, Tina Fey.

Kemper shared the happy news with the rest of the world in April during The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. She confessed to the host that it became difficult to hide her pregnancy from her co-workers. “We had a table read and I saw that my character was supposed to be on a roller coaster. I was Googling pregnant women on roller coasters.” She continued, “Because it was still so early on we decided we’ll just tell people that I have a back injury and that’s why I can’t ride the roller coaster. I could not act like I had a back injury. I kept forgetting I had one so I would do things someone with a back injury can’t do.”
