Ellen DeGeneres posted the sweetest Instagram of Portia, the person she’s most thankful for
Beloved talk show host (and voice of Dory!) Ellen DeGeneres has a lot to be thankful for this year, For example, she recently received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, causing President Barack Obama himself to tear up as he celebrated Ellen’s many accomplishments. Ellen DeGeneres has inspired us all at some point in our lives. She’s not afraid to speak out for what she believes in as a feminist and a member of the LGBTQ community, yet she speaks out with a kindness that all of us could learn from. And this Thanksgiving is no exception.
Ellen DeGeneres took to Instagram to share her love for partner Portia De Rossi
This is the holiday to express gratitude, and Ellen is doing just that. As she told People:
“I’m grateful for everything. I’m grateful for my health, and I’m so grateful for the love in my life. Because not everybody finds that. Not everybody finds that best friend...Portia and I constantly say to each other, ‘We are so lucky.’ Sometimes it’s lying in bed at night before I go to sleep, and I just say thank you to whatever, whoever is out there."
If those aren’t some serious #relationshipgoals, we don’t know what is. Seriously, talk about gratitude! Of course, being a comedienne, Ellen DeGeneres couldn’t let the holiday go without making at least one joke:

This is, after all, the woman who made the folks at the White House take part in the #mannequinchallenge while simultaneously receiving one of the biggest honors of her career. But perhaps that’s what makes her humor so sweet: her ability to merge gratitude with comedy. Either way, we’re thankful for people like Ellen DeGeneres, people who make the world a better place just by being themselves.
