Ellen DeGeneres is teaming up with Netflix, and we’re already dancing

Considering the gifts she gives to guests who appear on her show, we all know Ellen DeGeneres is, well, generous. So when Netflix asked her via Twitter to come aboard for a stand-up special, DeGeneres gave the people what we wanted. That’s right — Ellen DeGeneres is coming to Netflix, so get your dancing shoes on!

She’s been entertaining us on The Ellen DeGeneres Show for almost 15 years, and she’s become one of America’s best-loved daytime TV talk show hosts. But for her Netflix special, DeGeneres is returning to her roots of stand-up comedy.

If only we knew years ago that all we had to do was ask.

There’s no word on when this special will be released on the streaming site. But the fact that it’s in the works is enough to keep us going.

According to Mashable, DeGeneres’s last stand-up special, Ellen DeGeneres: Here and Now, aired on HBO in 2003.

Variety reports that DeGeneres isn’t the only comedian with a stand-up special coming to Netflix in the near future. Kevin James, who is currently starring in Kevin Can Wait on CBS, will have one as well.

Netflix recently released new Tracy Morgan specials along with two never-before-seen Dave Chapelle shows. The streaming site has also teamed up with Amy Schumer, Louis C.K., and Jerry Seinfeld to release comedy videos.

In the 15 years she’s been away from the stand-up spotlight, we’re sure DeGeneres has garnered enough material to put on a 15-hour special! With all the weird things going on in the world today, we can’t wait to hear her comedic take on everything and anything.
