Elle Fanning revived her role as Sleeping Beauty behind the scenes at Cannes

When Disney went on the hunt for an actress to capture the essence of Sleeping Beauty for the live-action Maleficent, it makes perfect sense that they looked to Elle Fanning. Not only does the 19-year-old look like the Princess Aurora, she also embodies her beautiful spirit. You know how they say that in order to look good on the outside, you have to feel good on the inside? Well, we feel like Elle has both covered.

At this year’s Cannes Film Festival, the younger Fanning sister has been killing it. And she even reprised her role as Sleeping Beauty for a brief moment.

Earlier today, Elle’s stylist — the clearly talented Samantha McMillen — posted a photo of the actress behind-the-scenes at Cannes. It features Elle sweetly sleeping on a couch, while wearing a Vivetta Ponti gown fit for a princess.

Back in 2014 (which feels like just yesterday), Elle said that playing Princess Aurora was an absolute dream. And if the above photo is any indication, it seems as though she is still living that dream.

"That was my dream when I was little. People would ask, 'What do you want to be when you grow up?' And I would say, 'A Disney princess.' That’s the ultimate goal in life! And I’m still like pinching myself to say that I’m Aurora. It’s so weird for me," Elle told CBR. "A little girl came up to me the other day because she had been seeing the trailers and stuff. And she asked, 'Are you Aurora?' And I’m like, 'I guess I’m Aurora.'

Elle — we don’t guess you’re Aurora. We know you’re Aurora. Now please, just stay away from spindles at Cannes.
