Elle Fanning looks like she’s on her way to cast some spells in this gothic winter outfit
If we were to get a glimpse inside of Elle Fanning’s bag, we are almost positive we would find a wand, a spell book, and an assortment of herbs. The 20th Century Women actress was spotted out and about in New York City yesterday looking like she may be up to some magical mischief. If Fanning was on her way to cast some spells, she was doing so in major style.
Fanning donned an all-black outfit including a calf-length trench coat, a black dress that hung just below the knee, Dr. Martens, a leather bag, fishnet tights, and some super cool rimless shades. We’re thinking she definitely drew inspiration from American Horror Story: Coven when putting together this look.
Or maybe Coven drew inspiration from Fanning! Who’s to say?
From the back, we can see Fanning’s trench coat is cinched in with two buttons and a belt. Also note the vintage seam running down the back of Fanning’s fishnets. Badass — but with a retro vibe.

The Fishnets:
For $14.75 you can pick up a pair of dance-quality fishnets that will add a bit of badassery to any overall look. The seam down the back is reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe and will make you feel a bit sexier than you do in just regular fishnets. Feeling confident is always a bonus when you’re trying to craft potent charms, people!
The Shoes:
Fanning is wearing the Dr. Martens Persephone Buttero boot, which you can buy here for $160. These bad boys give you a little extra height with their chunky heel while also providing you with that edge that makes people overly aware that you’re up to something mysterious.
