This photo of little Elle Fanning and her Barbie doll is super creepy for one reason

Elle Fanning is a huge Barbie fan. Ever since she was a little girl, Elle has collected Barbies and Barbie memorabilia. In fact, back in 2011 when she was just 13- years-old, she told Rookie Mag that she’s quite the Barbie collector.

“Every year I get a new Barbie calendar and there are all these old Barbie dolls on the calendar, and I'm very obsessed with schedules and everything, so I love writing in different things that I have each day on it, she said.

Fast forward to 2016, and Fanning just posted a vintage picture of her and one of her Barbies. It’s making us LOL and cringe at the same time. LOL, because Fanning is SO serious about her pose. And cringe, because the Barbie is as tall as a real-life human child and at quick glance, she looks alive.

But she’s not alive. Because she’s a Barbie. (Right?)

"I took my barbies very seriously," Fanning captioned the photo.

The truth is, as adorable as the photo and situation is, it’s a little trippy. Because let’s be honest — Fanning sort of looks like a fairy princess badass Barbie.
