Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, we are SO excited for your comeback
We didn’t even know that we needed this comeback, and now it’s all we can think about. Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, a superhero duo from the 1970s Saturday morning kids TV show The Krofft Supershow, are coming back. They’re not only back, but they’re going to be played by two very funny ladies we totally love: Grace Helbig (of YouTube fame) as Electra Woman, and Hannah Hart (also of YouTube fame) as Dyna Girl. I told you we were already obsessed.
Electra Woman and Dyna Girl were magazine reporters Lori and Judy by day, and cape-wearing crime fighters by night. Also, the ’70s-sitch meant that the show was brim-filled with the amazingly campy wardrobes, bright neon colors, and bad guys with names like, “Glitter Rock” and “Spider Lady.” Knowing Helbig and Hart, probably all of that will stay exactly the same, and we are totally cool with that.

The new show will follow these two as they move from Ohio to Los Angeles and try to break into the world of superheroes. It’s going to be distributed by Legendary Entertainment and Fullscreen, with Fullscreen CEO, George Strompolos, adding that, “This is basically our plot to break the Internet in 2015.” Which makes it sound, to us, like this is going to be a web series. Breaking the Internet with this duo might just work. According to the Hollywood Reporter, they’ve already started shooting, so we might see these two savin’ lives and solvin’ crimes sooner than we think.
If you need more reasons to be excited, then you need to familiarize yourself a wee bit more with the original Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, because Helbig and Hart are the PERFECT redux choices. Please keep the costumes exactly the same, this is our plea.
