This eerie detail from “Game of Thrones” last season will completely change the way you see Season 6’s finale
**Crazy spoilers ahead**
Murderer of thousands, Cersei Lannister has been the vehicle of her own destruction pretty much from the get-go. So, you’d think she would’ve listened to that witch who prophecized her demise waaaay back in the day, right? (Not sure what I’m talking about? Check out this article.) But NAH, not Cersei. She does whatEVER she wants…with serious consequences.
Let’s take a look back at Season 5, Episode 3, “High Sparrow” when Cersei first met her (eventual) nemesis.
Back then, Cersei was actually into the idea of “the Crown” and “the Faith” being all chummy together.
“The faith and the crown are the two pillars that hold up this world.”
“One collapses, so does the other.”
A far more welcoming Cersei (and also, with longer hair!).
Now let’s take a look at her little monologue here paired with WHAT WENT DOWN in the Season 6 finale, “The Winds of Winter.”
Imgur user Gedogfx initially pointed out this very eerie foreshadowing (although with slightly tweaked dialogue, which is why we recreated it here). But it’s pretttty crazy how well these two things go together. It’s just ONE MORE THING to prove how amazing the Thrones showrunners’ foresight truly is!
Perhaps even MORE ironic, was the fact that Tommen echoed his mother’s earlier sentiments only a few episodes ago in “Blood of my Blood.”
“The Crown and the Faith are the twin pillars upon which the world rests.”
OH sweet, innocent Tommen. If only your mother had the gift of foresight as good as David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.
