Eddie Redmayne and James Corden just hilariously proved how difficult “Fantastic Beasts” would be if it was set in the modern day

The day is finally here! Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is actually out and OMG our excitement levels are at 100. However, as this video shows, in modern times Fantastic Beasts wouldn’t necessarily work.

Written by J.K. Rowling, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them follows the adventures of noted magizoologist Newt Scamander as he travels to New York in 1926 with his case of magical creatures and beasts. Unfortunately, some of Newt’s creatures escape and threaten to unveil the world of wizards and witches to No-Majs (a.k.a. American for Muggles). There’s also a sinister dark force at play, too (BUT WE HAVEN’T SEEN THE FILM YET SO NO SPOILERS OKAY!?).

If you’re anything like us and actually think that wizards, witches, Hogwarts, Harry Potter, and now Newt Scamander, are all real, then you’ll definitely have some burning questions as to the logistics of how things would go down IRL.

For example, Newt arrives in New York on a boat in 1926. However, if he were to travel to America now with his magical suitcase full of creatures, he’d probably have to fly. That means there’d definitely be *some* difficulty with airport security. As anyone who has ever been on an airplane knows, even thought they’re just doing their job TSA can *sometimes* be a little difficult to deal with.

Well, Eddie Redmayne, who plays Newt Scamander in the movie, and James Corden have spoofed what it would be like if Fantastic Beasts were set in 2016 and it’s SO funny.

Omg!

Corden hilarious tackles the role of a TSA worker and all the annoying little things that happen at airports, such as having liquids in your hand luggage and whether or not you actually packed your bag yourself. Of course, Eddie is harboring magical creatures in his suitcase, who keep popping their heads up! It’s too funny. Luckily things all go off without a hitch, and he’s allowed through airport security.

We’re pretty sure, however, that there’d *totally* be some charm to get through airport control. Failing that, perhaps like the Hogwarts Express, wizards and witches would have their own air service?

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is out today (November 18th)!
