Ed Sheeran said he’ll eventually take an extended leave from music for this super adorable reason

Apart from the fact that Ed Sheeran has one of the sweetest voices in music, he’s just so down to earth and open about his personal life — and we can’t help but swoon.

In an interview with Zane Lowe for Beats 1/Apple Music, Sheeran revealed he’s ready to be a dad! What what!

That’s right, he’s going super steady with Cherry Seaborn (who he met in high school!), and little red-headed babies are in their future. Actually, he’s “massively” looking forward to it and wants kids like, now already. “I wanted to be a dad, like, last year. I’m ready, let’s go – tour bus babies, little fat, chubby babies that just walk around.”

"When they hit four or five and start primary school, I'm just out. I think [Bruce] Springsteen took an extended break when his kids went to school. I think that's going to be me. I want to set up a little studio in the countryside and have new artists come down."

Awwww! This makes us incredibly happy, but also, incredibly hopeful that Ed waits just a little while longer to start a family. Because it sounds like the sooner he does, the sooner we’ll have to say goodbye (at least for a while).

He’s also prepared for fatherhood by building an underground pub (um, can we have the plans for that?) at his new house, so that when he has friends over, they don’t have to occupy the same space as the baby and disturb the little bub! Awwwwwww.

"The problem with my house at the moment is, if I have a house party, it's all in the house. And if I have kids, I still want to have mates around and have beers and stuff like that, so it's good to have something that's separate."

Sounds like expert planning to us! Sheeran also said in the interview that he and his wife will “take turns watching the kids,” so it really does seem like they’re prepared for the challenges ahead.
