Ed Sheeran just performed with the Rolling Stones, because music nerd dreams do come true
You may be a ride or die classic rock lover or the biggest top 40’s fan on Planet Earth, whatever ends up popping up on your iTunes when you set your jams to shuffle, you have to admit that Ed Sheeran and Mick Jagger teaming up to rock out is pretty rad stuff. There’s just something about old school and new school teaming up to bring us a combo-platter of classic and contemporary that is just so pop music “Circle of Life.” We love it, we love it.
Jagger and Sheeran (and the rest of the stones, of course) met up in Kansas City for that leg of the Stones Zip Code tour, and Sheeran joined the dudes onstage for “Beast of Burden” and it’s a total blast to watch the gentlemen rock out together. As much as we love song mashups, what we really have a soft spot for is generational mashups (we’re still freaking out about Rihanna and Paul McCartney collab-ing).
Check out a clip of the radness below:

And here’s the whole shebang:
Also, repping his generation beautifully, Sheeran posted a selfie on Insta with the Stones:
We are straight-up obsessed with classic and contemporary music getting their mashup on and we absolutely can’t wait to see what the next classic/contemporary collab ends up being.
