Ed Sheeran gives surprise wedding performance and our hearts are melting
Nothing brings everyone together like a wedding does! And while we all secretly hope some A-list celeb crashes our weddings a la Taylor Swift (seriously, how many times has she done that?!), the probability of that is unfortunately kinda slim.
However, Snow Patrol frontman Johnny McDaid’s sister was one of the lucky ones! The rocker attended his sister’s wedding in Ireland over the weekend and even though he’s been dating Courteney Cox since 2013, took Ed Sheeran as his other plus one to surprise his sis with a special performance from the British singer.
According to EW, Sheeran performed a 30-minute set for the newlywed, including “a rendition of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Superstition’ and Sheeran’s ‘Tenerife Sea,’ one of several songs the pair penned together for Sheeran’s second studio album, x. ”

Hold on just a second — I had no idea the lead singer of Snow Patrol helped Ed Sheeran with his sophomore album! That’s actually incredible.
The pair also performed a version of “Chasing Cars,” the breakout single of 2006 that earned a Grammy nomination and hit no. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Congrats to the new couple and hey Ed, if you guys ever wanna crash one of our weddings, just holler at us!
