Quitting our jobs so we have more time to listen to Ed Sheeran’s “Dirrty” cover

Even though it’s not #ThrowbackThursday quite yet, our imaginary boyfriend Ed Sheeran decided to time-travel back to 2002 and channel Christina Aguilera by singing “Dirrty” for BBC 1. His version is everything we ever hoped and dreamed a 2000s-era X-Tina cover could be. Sweet, sexy, Ed Sheeran-levels of demure; this folk-pop redo has been relentlessly stuck in our heads all day long, and we are NOT mad about it. Not even a little bit.

Instead of accessorizing with leather chaps, a boxing ring, and a bikini top, watch as Ed just sticks to the basics: he’s got his talented back-up dancers, his guitar, and his trusty Buddy Holly frames. Perfection.

We will forever love Christina’s original, but this fun, light recreation of “Dirrty” is bound to be our fave song of the week! I mean, how could it not be?

So listen. Bask in the ’00s nostalgia glory. And get ready to fall even harder for our darling Ed, as if that were even possible.

And ps, if you need more Christina treatment today never forget her Jimmy Fallon cameo last night. Maybe Ed will do that next.
