Ed Sheeran covered Britney Spears’ “…Baby One More Time,” and it’s angsty AF now
Two of our favorites combined into one musical masterpiece: Ed Sheeran covered Britney Spears’ “…Baby One More Time”. That’s maybe the best sentence we’ve ever had the privilege of writing. It’s been almost two decades (two. decades. omg.) since Britney’s iconic song came out, but our love for it has never waned. And now we have a brand new, reimagined version from Ed Sheeran, who brings in his own angsty, raw tone and just. UGH. Where was this song when we were in the height of our teen angst?!

Spotify has recently opened up their streaming platform for artists to release singles, and so this cover was recorded for Spotify in New York. We’re hoping that this means more artists with a little free time and a lot of talent will take this opportunity to release more singles like this. It’s also just fun to hear one of our faves reimagined like this.
It may even beat our previous favorite Ed Sheeran cover of Nina Simone’s “Be My Husband.”
Basically what we’re saying is bless Spotify, bless Ed Sheeran, and OF COURSE bless the princess of pop herself, Britney Spears, for conspiring to bring us a song we’ll be listening to on repeat until our roommates threaten to evict us if we don’t change the music.
