Ebonee Davis explained self care in a totally genius way, and we heart it
We have nothing but love for the amazing Ebonee Davis. We fell head over heels when Ebonee Davis talked racism in fashion in her open letter, and absolutely cheered when she wrote about living a more authentic life. And we probably don’t need to tell you that we’re SO about her upcoming TED Talk. Recently, Ebonee Davis explained self care in the most amazing way, and our minds are so blown. You’ve got to read it for yourself!
On Instagram, Ebonee Davis explained self care, writing,
"It's time we focus on ourselves this year. We pour so much of our energy into building external relationships (family, lovers, friends) but we rarely take the time to build strong relationships with ourselves. You cannot pour from an empty cup and you can't be there for someone else without first being there for yourself."
"Look inside and find what you've been holding on to and repressing and LET IT OUT. Learn to love and accept every bit of yourself, even the parts that aren't easy to love. Stop judging yourself for past mistakes and forgive yourself and those around you. None of us are perfect and we don't have to pretend to be. As soon as we stop pretending, we can do the necessary work it takes to build ourselves into our best versions. Real change starts on the inside and it starts with you. ❤️✌🏾
One commenter said, “Preach!!!” and another said, “You are so wise! Love it ???” We couldn’t say it better ourselves. We’re such huge fans of Ebonee Davis, and we can’t wait to see what she does next! Take care of yourselves, friends. You deserve it.
