Okay, Dwayne Johnson finally answered whether he’s running for President…or did he?

Remember back in June 2016, the wrester-turned-actor, Dwayne Johnson, gave an interview with British GQ where he told the reporter that there was a “real possibility” he would run for president The public went wild for the idea. Multiple news sources picked up the quote and ran with it!  The title of the article was, Dwayne Johnson For President, after all.

In the interview with GQ, Dwayne hinted pretty heavily the thought of becoming President The Rock had certainly crossed his mind.

He said, "…I can't deny that the thought of being governor, the thought of being president, is alluring. And beyond that, it would be an opportunity to make a real impact on people's lives on a global scale."

Yeah – we had the same reaction, too.

The response even spawned a national poll. According to Public Policy Polling, Dwayne Johnson would lead Trump 42 to 37 in a prospective face-off.

On his most recent visit to The Tonight Show, the host, Jimmy Fallon, took the opportunity to get to the bottom of the presidential rumor.

When asked why he thought the public responded so favorably to the idea, Dwayne have a perfectly political answer.

He addressed the question but left plenty of details of its meaning open to interpretation.

Dwayne said, "…Over the years I’ve become a guy that a lot of people have relate to. I get up early in the morning at a ridiculous hour. I go to work and spend time with the troops and take care of my family.  And I love taking care of people.  I think that kind of thing really resonates with people today… I’m really blown away.  And I’m very flattered by it.  Three and a half years is a long ways away.  So, we’ll see…"

The smile on his face makes it difficult to discern whether or not he’s being serious. Either way, we’d like to think the answer is most definitely – YES!
