Dunkin’ Donuts wants you to pick a new iced coffee flavor, and cookie dough *is* an option

Although most fast food chains are already thinking about their pumpkin spice offerings and holiday cup designs, one place holds a dear spot in our hearts for already planning even further ahead. Dunkin’ Donuts is getting cookie dough flavored iced coffee for the 2018 summer season. Well, not exactly. Right now, Dunkin is holding a contest to decide which decadent and delicious iced coffee flavors they should make for next year, and they’re all based on very popular Baskin Robbins ice cream flavors. (Baskin Robbins and Dunkin’ Donuts are under the same brand umbrella, FYI.)
There are so many delicious options, it’s kind of hard to choose.
The company is asking people to go vote between Cookie Dough, Butter Pecan, Pistachio, Rocky Road, and Jamoca Almond Fudge, which admittedly feels like a painfully impossible choice. It’s really a shame that they can’t make all of them. But if we had to choose, it’s obviously cookie dough right? That sounds like heaven in a large plastic cup.
If you have a strong opinion about any of the flavors, you can vote up until August 25 (so hurry!) on one of the store’s posts on the official Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram pages. On Saturday the 25th, you can vote in-store using one a Snapchat filter (there’s one for each flavor, naturally).
This new concoction sounds delicious, but it’s really no replacement for the old school Coolatta, which DD retired this year after having it on its menus since 1994. Fans of the Coolatta were not thrilled with the replacement, the Frozen Dunkin’ Coffee, which was more coffee than milkshake like the Coolatta. Which is why this new contest is a good thing!

If you loved the Coolattta and didn’t mind that it wasn’t all about the coffee, having a drink that’s basically melted cookie dough ice cream and a dash of coffee on the menu sort of solves all of your problems, right? Dear Dunkin, please consider this our vote.
