If you bought this drink from Trader Joe’s, you could be in danger. Seriously.

Trader Joe’s is the ultimate destination for your quirky shopping needs. From truffle cheese to grapefruit soda, you can buy pretty much any wonderful combination you’re craving. However, the retailer has sent out a warning statement directed toward anyone who has purchased one drink in particular — Triple Ginger Brew. Why? Because unopened bottles of it are blowing up. Yes, seriously.

The Monrovia-based company is recalling all lots of their Triple Ginger Brew (SKU 51857) due to reports from customers of “unopened bottles bursting.” The drink itself poses no health risks, and no illnesses or injuries have been reported, according to an FDA statement; however, bottles have been randomly shattering, a risk that could potentially gravely harm someone standing close by when it happens.

Triple Ginger Brew is a lightly carbonated, non-alcoholic drink. The bottles being recalled were purchased between November 9th and December 14th and were distributed to Trader Joe’s stores all over the nation. According to the release, “all product has been removed from store shelves and destroyed.”

If you have bottles of Triple Ginger Brew in your home, the company encourages you to “handle it with care and dispose of it immediately in an outside container.” Trader Joe’s will also provide a refund. If you have any questions, call the company’s customer relations department at (626) 599-3817 6:00AM-6:00PM PST, Monday through Friday. . . and stay safe, folks.
