Hope you’re hungry, Drew Barrymore’s zombie show is coming back for seconds
We’re really, really, really, REALLY happy to report that Netflix has renewed The Santa Clarita Diet for season 2. Like, REALLY happy.
If you missed the first season of the Netflix show, you’d better block off part of your weekend to binge watch this incredibly fun comedy starring Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant, because wow. It manages to be both really hilarious and in moments heartfelt, stacked with incredibly likable characters and situations that, while heightened and strange, still feel real and relatable.
Liv Hewson, aka Abby Hammond, shared a video on Instagram announcing the renewal of one of our fav new series, and have we mentioned that we’re REALLY HAPPY?
While we’re not exactly excited for some more truly upsettingly gross yet hilarious advertising from the Netflix team, we can’t wait to see what season two will bring us. The Hammonds were just learning to cope with the fact that Sheila (Drew Barrymore, living her best life as the undead) was a zombie when they realized that, as a zombie, she had an expiration date, and we didn’t quite resolve the issue in the first season.
We’re also SUPER pumped to see more of Abbey-slash-Liv-Hewson, who’s definitely a standout on the show, not to mention her sidekick and neighbor, Eric. Together they’re a comedy duo we really need more of in our lives, like, stat, not least because we want to be Abby Hammond when we grow up. false
