The odds of Drake appearing in “The Handmaid’s Tale” Season 2 are actually looking pretty good
The Handmaid’s Tale is coming back for Season 2, and while it might be too early to speculate about what might happen to Offred and company, casting rumors are swirling. Especially when it comes to Drake, who just might make an appearance in Gilead.
Last month, The Handmaid’s Tale author Margaret Atwood joked about Drake guest starring in Season 2.
Atwood and Drake are basically Canadian superstars, and the famed writer already has an idea about what he could do on the show. So let’s get this going!
“I’ll drop that notion into the ear of Bruce Miller, the showrunner, and see what he can do with that because of course the show is filmed in Toronto," she said. "Maybe Drake could help smuggle someone?
We were still a little skeptical about whether or not it could happen, but luckily, Entertainment Weekly asked Miller about the possibility, and he gave a surprising (and awesome) response.
“What Margaret says goes, Miller said. “He’s spectacular. He’d fit right in — we have a fun and smart and creative cast. I think he would have a good time.
So, if what Margaret says goes, and Margaret says she wants Drake on the show, then…this has to happen, right?! Our fingers are certainly crossed.
We loved Season 1 of The Handmaid’s Tale, which was just nominated for 13 Emmy Awards (the awards show airs on September 17th). And it sounds like Season 2 could also be pretty amazing, between Alexis Bledel returning and now, you know, a potential appearance from Drake. Blessed be the fruit — but, actually.
